The parish extends from the River Thames in the north to Holloway and Maidenhead Thicket in the south and from Temple in the west to The Hockett and Winter Hill in the east. It includes the villages of Bisham, Temple and Stubbings and parts of Burchetts Green, Pinkneys Green and Cookham Dean. It benefits from a variety of rural landscapes, from the woodlands on the north-facing scarp of the Thames Valley overlooking the flood plain, to areas of farm land dissected by local roads, lanes and footpaths. It is dominated by the A404 trunk road which runs north/south through the parish.
The Parish Council is responsible for representing the views of parish residents and bringing matters of local importance to the attention of the relevant authorities. It is a statutory consultee on all planning applications made within its area, and makes its own comments on planning matters as well as passing on comments made by members of the public. It owns a number of properties in the village of Bisham, including The Orchard in Bisham and the Parish Land adjacent to Bisham Church, all of which are open for the enjoyment of the public.
The conduct of the Members of the Parish Council is regulated by the Model Code of Conduct of the Standards Board for England, which the Parish Council has adopted in full.
