If you are interesting in becoming a Parish Councillor, there are two ways you can do this;
- Co-option – this is the process by which a Council vacancy can be filled by a vote of the existing Cllrs. This usually occurs when a seat has become vacant in between elections, and there hasn’t been enough electors requesting a by-election. For further information, please read Bisham Parish Council’s Co-option Page.
- Election – during a normal election period, or if a by-election has been called to fill a vacant seat, members of the public can stand for election. There are specific rules about how to do this, and there is advice available online. See our Elections Page for more information on how to stand during an election.
