We were saddened to hear that Derek passed away just before Christmas. We were privileged to be able to attend his funeral at All Saints Church.
Derek joined the Parish Council in 2019 and quickly proved to be a hard working councillor. We benefitted hugely from his in-depth knowledge of property and planning law and relied on his eloquent and thorough responses to the planning applications we received. He was also very tenacious in pursuing responses from the various departments in the Borough Council.
Derek was a very personable character and a very diligent councillor. We are sorry that his tenure as a councillor was so brief, but we are grateful to Heather and the girls, Antoinette and Henrietta, for lending him to us. We are all the richer for knowing and working with him. He is sorely missed.
